JUST HEARD THE GREAT NEWS!!!  LAURA MAC HAS BEEN DECLARED "IN REMISSION" BY HER DR'S WITH NO TRACE OF CANCER SEEN ON THE PET SCAN. WHAT A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS GIFT! THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF Y'ALL FOR ALL THE PRAYERS AND WELL WISHES! AND LAURA MAC - GET YOUR REST AND GET READY FOR THE 25TH REUNION! WE ARE GONNA PARTY LIKE IT IS 1989!

We would like to thank each and everyone of you that came out and made our reunion weekend such a huge success!
The weekend began at the Homecoming football game vs Lee County. The school provided us with reserved seating and it was so wonderful to see so many alumni come back home to see the game. Thank you for coming out and continuing to support the school. Athens Drive was down at half time and many of the alumni left before the end of the game , The Jaguars came back and won 26-25! Congratulatons to the current ADHS Football Jaguars for pullng out the homecoming victory!

From the game many alumni went to Sammy's Sports Bar on Avent Ferry for a post game mixer and it was so great to see everyone there. Thank you to the management and staff of Sammy's for all their time, effort and amazing service they have provided us over the past year of planning the reunion and especially for the service we received Friday night.

Saturday morning we had a great turnout for the Family Picnic @ Pullen Park. It was wonderful to get to see everyone's children. A big thank you
should be extended to Craig Pounds ( husband of Jennifer Jackson Pounds) for all his help with the set up and for providing the coolers and ice for the picnic. Also, none of us would have eaten if not for Scott Salmon and his generosity of his "pig cooker" grill, and his time and energy he spent cooking for everyone. We were blessed with beautiful weather and wonderful company.

After the Picnic, we went back home to Athens Drive High School, and toured the school. Although it has been through some major changes in the past 20 years, some things will never change, according to Jeff Spitz, the locker room still smells the same.  We are very grateful to the current students and staff of Athens Drive for allowing us to take the stroll down memory lane and opening the school for us on a Saturday.

Saturday Evening we all came together at the Museum of Natural Sciences in Downtown Raleigh for a little more formal event. ( More details on this event will be posted soon.)

The party continued at The Downtown Marriott City Center hotel in the lounge. We shut the place down and a large time was had by all.

Everyone looked amazing and the comment was made by some of the class of 88 ladies that our class of 89 men had aged very very well. ( Our class always had the best looking men anyway!) All the ladies were gorgeous and looked even more beautiful than they did 20 years ago.

Thank you again to each and everyone of you that came out and helped  make each of these events such a success!
